Description
Hi, Chirp team,
Today Ive faced with a problem with Chirp daily 20121013 and Mac OS X 10.8.2. Radio is Baofeng UV-5R.
s possible to download data from radio, but sometimes need to choose "Download from radio" menu item for several times. But its not a main problem. The main problem is Chirp cant upload data back to radio. After pressing "Upload to radio" menu item, window "Cloning" appears for 1sec, then it dissapears without any promt or error message. Same build 2012013 for Win works properly with this Mac, cable and radio.

Without a debug.log I can't even begin to address this. Please see the documentation on how to report issues.

Unfortunately, I cant find debug.log. What is the path for Mac OS?
Updated by Joseph Peterson almost 12 years ago
it's in your .chirp folder under your home folder
You'll have to reproduce the issue right before uploading, per the procedure
The debug log is cleared every time you start chirp, so the procedure for getting a usable log is:
- Start chirp
- Reproduce the failure or bug
- Close chirp
- Copy and send the debug.log before starting chirp again
On the Mac platform, your debug log should be in your home directory, in .chirp/debug.log. If you don't know how to find this, open up a terminal window and run the following command at the prompt:
cp ~/.chirp/debug.log ~/Desktop
Then close the terminal window. The debug.log file will be on your desktop.

Joseph, hi!
Thank you very much for your feedback. Today I`ve rechecked this problem again with latest CHIRP version(chirp-daily-20130221) and found, that CHIRP can upload data to the radio. But from time to time. Usually program display error "Radio did not respond" during uploading to the radio. But downloading data from radio to maс always successful. Please, check the current state of problem on video: http://youtu.be/Vxi7LrED-iM
Debug.log also attached.

I'm just another user, figured I would lend a hand with the debug log procedure =)
I have a UV-5RA (next model up) Firmware BFB293 and have no issues with the last daily, 20130218.. haven't tried todays yet.

Thank you for the debug.log and video. I've seen similar behavior with a bad cable or driver. I've only seen it happen with the cheap Chinese USB-serial cables, never with genuine FTDI or Prolific cables. This is not something we can fix, so I will close the issue.
Dmitry, would you be interested in creating a Russian translation for Chirp? I noticed Chirp was defaulting to English on your system.

I think, you are right about cable. For the translation, please, send a link with manual and strings. I will try my best to prepare it.

I created #609 with details about adding a Russian translation.
