I have an AT-779UV on loan and am looking at the protocol.
First thing that seems different is the expected baud rate (115200) (and no echo);
the program response is different (just \x06);
it sends a four-byte read command instead of three, I'm working through this manually in Wireshark so far to get a general idea, hoping to script up some tests soon.

I am also interested in having the Anytone AT-779UV working with CHIRP. Let me know if I can provide any resources to this end. MichaelLAX at AOL dot COM

NOTE: In my experiments: code plugs from Anytone AT779UV and Radioddity DB20-G are interchangeable; but they will not load into the Retevis Ra-25 software, so there seems to be something proprietary about the Retevis software.

seems it's a cheap radio chosen over the CRT Micron/Anytone/Retevis as a new model.

but programming is a pain to do in software,
Chirp would be so much easier..

Can I add another request for the AT-779UV. I do also have a 2nd unit which I may possibly be able to loan if someone is in the UK

This seems to read the data fine on my DB20G except the radio mode. I have my radio set for 136-174/400-470 and CHIRP has it listed as 144-148/420/450. With the mismatch I was able to write back to the radio, but when I changed the Radio Mode in CHIRP to match my radio, it failed to write.

With the wrong mode, I entered the 2m calling frequency (145.62) and was able to write that back to the radio.

What information would you like to debug this?

For my DB20G, I selected Anytone 779UV. With the latest changes, I can read from the radio and the right mode is selected. However, writing to radio gives:

Error communicating with radio

Exception During Upload: not enough values to unpack (expected 2, got 1)
