Juste a question with underlined letters. Must they be the same for all languages ?
+For example :+
"Move Up" in English is translated as "Monter" in French.
Should I type "M_onter" or "Monter _U".
Can I change the underlined letter or not ?
Thanks and 73.

The underlined character becomes a keyboard shortcut for navigating the menu. You can change it, but it needs to be unique within a given context. So, if you ended up with "_Move Up" and "_Move Down", the user couldn't select one or the other with the keyboard. Also, be wary of places where the same string is used in different locations.
You can also omit the _ to just not have that key be a shortcut in your language.
Thanks!

Hi,
85 % done but I have few question to finish translation :
- what is "Diff" feature ?
- what is "raw" memory ? Where can I find this using CHIRP ?
- probably missing } at the end of string Internal Error: Invalid limit {number
- how can I try the translation before sending you back the fr.po file ? Thanks ! 73

- what is "Diff" feature ?
It's a developer feature where chirp will show the low-level differences between two memories. "Difference" or "comparison" would be synonyms.
- what is "raw" memory ? Where can I find this using CHIRP ?
This is a developer feature as well. It means "the low-level details". You can turn these on with Help->Enable Developer Functions.
- probably missing } at the end of string Internal Error: Invalid limit {number
Yes, it's fixed in the tree, so you can fix that in your file, both in the original and translated strings.
- how can I try the translation before sending you back the fr.po file ?
Unless you're running from source, you can't easily do this. However, when you send it to me, there will be a daily build the next day, which will have the French option in it for you to try. It's fine if it takes a couple of iterations to get it right.
Thanks!

Okay, thanks, it's queued for tomorrow's build. We'll see how it goes. I do this infrequently enough that it often takes a couple times to get it right :)
