Description
I tried to connect my radio to CHIRP, to no avail. I don’t see my model anywhere on the compatibility list, not under regular Baofeng list, nor under the Pofung list, where I believe this radio should be put under. I decided to try and connect to the radio with each and every single driver under both the Baofeng and the Radioddity tab in CHIRP, to no avail.
I expected my radio to connect using the Radioddity UV-5G driver, as per the home website of CHIRP.
None of the drivers worked, most displayed “No response from radio. Check connector and cabling!” error message, some responded with different errors.
UV-3R driver responded with “Failed to clone: Failed to communicate with radio: local variable 'e' referenced before assignment” error message.
BF-F8HP driver responded with “DEBUG: Unexpected response, got this:000: aa 30 76 00 00 30 30 38 .0v..008
008: 00 38 .8......” and “ERROR: uv5r._ident_radio: Unexpected response from radio.”
5RX driver responded with “DEBUG: Wanted 8, got 4: 000: aa 20 74 00 ..t.....” and “ERROR: Failed to clone: Error reading data from radio: not the amount of data we want.”
All is available inside of my debug log.
Seems like this might be a new model which needs to be added. Front of the radio says 5RX-P, the sticker after taking out the battery says UV-5X Pro. FCC ID is 2AJGM-5RX like on many models - that is also what pushes me into thinking this is a Pofung model.
