CHIRP

Correction to the above if you Press and hold FW to put into clone then pres BAND key to put radio into TX mode then initiate a read from radio it works..
the only thing that has changed is CHRIP no longer prompts you with the instructions on what buttons to press on the radio to READ / WRITE.

So, every (single) Yaesu requires you to do the dance on the radio and start chirp's process at the right time. It's infuriating and it's one reason I never (ever) buy Yaesu radios. Every other radio manufacturer on the planet lets the PC control the process because it's so much easier.

This is not new and hasn't changed in CHIRP. Is the ask here that the VX3 does not show the instructions the way some of the other Yaesu radios do to help?

First thanks for all u do supporting this outstanding app it’s much appreciated.. 

I think (I’m 99% sure) the/a  previous version of chirp prompted me with the instructions in a pop up. “Turn on radio hold bla bla bla button” I was just pointing out the message disappeared 

The actual download works I just had to look up the key press sequence elsewhere to get chirp talking to the radio.  

And yes I agree these extra steps are a PITA 

That said… this is a pretty cool little radio !!!

I see the problem, a recent change to how we store the "don't show me this again" flag is getting inverted and incorrectly saving that as true when it should be false. I'll work on that.

Yup sry I initially thought it did stop working hence title. but what really happen was I forgot what buttons I needed to press and promp wasn’t there to help.
