Description

(Describe what you were doing)
Yaesu 857d in Clone Mode
Select Download from Radio in the Radio menu of Chirp
Select the correct input for the digirig mobile interface.
Select 857 model (US).
Click the button to start in CHIRP.
Click the Send button in Yaesu 857d.

(Describe what you expected to happen)
Current presets in the radio would populate a file in CHIRP.

(Describe what actually happened instead)
CHIRP at first starts the download from the radio, the progress bar on both CHIRP and the radio move forward as expected. However, the radio finishes, ending the send, with CHIRP still waiting to finish. After a few more seconds I get an error message stating that CHIRP failed to get the last block.

(Has this ever worked before? New radio? Does it work with OEM software?)
Yes, I used to use CHIRP with this OS and this radio through this interface regularly.
Has not worked since the latest download of Ubuntu, or the the 20250214 edition of CHIRP.

Do you have an 857D or 857ND? If the former, can you please choose the non-US variant and see if that works? Technically the US version entry is for the 857ND (with separate 60m channels).

Bingo Bango Bongo! No clue why it used to work with the US version but I'll
take it. Thank you so much!

It definitely didn't used to work with the other driver. None of this has changed in over ten years (including the warning message where it's telling you this) and Yaesus are way too dumb for this to be more automatic in the driver unfortunately. But, maybe if you were coming from the ancient python2 version it just looked a little different and so your muscle memory is off?

Anyway, glad it's an easy resolution. I'll close this, thanks.
