CHIRP

Have a new-to-me IC-2100 (non H model), I was able to read radio memories into CHIRP just fine, saved in file on laptop. Cleared out channels, queried Repeaterbook, copied the dozen or so freq. into memory channels, tried to upload to radio from laptop, clone went along fine, progress bar went from 0 to 100%, then the radio displayed "CL ERR"

I expected new channels to be written to the radio.

I got "CL ERR"

Don't have OEM or third-party software, never tried with this radio (just got it today).

Reminder, this is the early model, IC-2100, NOT the IC-2100H

Adding file CHIRP saved from original read of radio.

This file could be written to the IC-2100 successfully, it ended with "CL END" on radio display

Minor edit of this file (set Mem #1 to display alphanumeric name and change was written).

Perhaps starting from "scratch" is an issue? Some setting or parameter isn't set properly?
