Bug #11327
closedUV-5RM Turning Step Error
0%
Description
I download the stock configuration from the UV-5RM radio fine. When I go under the "Name" tab and attempt to enter anything, I get an error message "Invalid Entry - Invalid edit: Unable to find a supported tuning step for 462.562250 (and any other channels attempted). I also attempted to use it as a UV-17Pro and had the same results. Regardless of what I type in the Name category (alpha, numeric, symbols), I get the same result.

Your image looks like it's intending to be the GMRS channels, but the first two (at least) are the wrong frequency and have a tuning step granularity that the radio doesn't claim to be able to support. Those frequencies are 250Hz aligned, but the radio only supports 2500Hz, 6250Hz, and 12500Hz, etc. Did the radio come with those channels pre-programmed, or did you put them in? If the latter, changing those to the correct frequencies will fix the problem you're having. You can open the stock config (File->Open Stock Config->US FRS and GMRS) to see the correct frequencies.

- Status changed from New to Not a bug
Looks like Richard replied to this from a different email address and indicated that he corrected the invalid frequencies and that resolved the problem. Seems like a bad initial load from the factory with clearly-incorrect GMRS frequencies.
