Description

I downloaded my memory channels from my Icom IC-7100 via USB using CHIRP, saved to CSV, and then uploaded the memory channels list to a TH-D72A HT via USB, and all seemed to have worked well, however the memory channels in the HT are now corrupted such that the audio is slightly distorted when receiving on a memory channel, but if I go to VFO mode with the exact same frequency there is no distortion. So far this seems to happen only on UHF memory channels but I haven't done enough testing yet on VHF to confirm. I noticed though that if I use the M>V function to copy the memory data to the VFO then the audio is distorted on the VFO also. I thought maybe the NFM/FM setting in the D72's cfgs might have been set wrong but it correctly shows FM for both VFO and Memory channels. When I look at the TX/RX menu -> Prog. VFO item it shows as blank for all memory channels, whereas it shows either 136-173MHz for VHF VFO or 400-523MHz for UHF VFO. (Not sure if that means anything, maybe it's supposed to be blank for memory channels.) I can post the before and after image files if needed tomorrow but hopefully someone has an idea what the cause might be. Tomorrow I will also try Kenwood's MCP-4A program and maybe it will be able to fix things if it reads in the data and then sends it back to the radio.
