Why are you loading an external "anytone778uv.py" file? CHIRP now has native support for the Anytone AT-778UV (and other similar models). I just tested my Retevis RT95 (which uses the same driver module). The download completed without any issues.

After updating my Linux box to the new Chirp Daily Build, I did find 778uv as an available radio for Chirp. I confirmed that reading from my AT-778uv works. Please close this bug report.
