Description
Hello Chirp folks, I an IT support agent working with a customer trying to clone and apply said image to about a dozen new Baofeng UV-82c devices.
Right now we running the 20200211 version of the Chirp software.
We are using a FTDI driver version 2.12.28.0 for the USB Serial port (ComX) adapter.
We have tested from multiple Windows 10 computers, 64-bit, 1903 and 1909.
Whenever we attempt to "Download from Radio" we select the appropriate com port, in this case, the adapter we are using is com4, the company Baofeng, and since UV-82C is not listed, we treid just the UV-82.
"An Error has Occurred
Radio did not respond"
We tested UV-82HP, UV-82iii, UV-82WP, same message each time.
We have an un-programmed UV-82HP and we were successful in doing the "Download from Radio" procedure and reading data from the device, which leads me to believe that the USB Adapter, as well as the USB/COM driver is functional.
I am suspecting that since the UV-82C is not listed in this menu within the CHIRP application, that we need to use a specific driver that isn't obvious, or else perhaps the UV-82C is infact no longer supported?
I did peruse the issues list and seen some folks notating the UV-82C is weird to plug in, and we have ensured the cable is seated.
This is not something I personally have much experience in, any suggestions would be great.
Thanks!
