Bug #6731
closedUV5RX3 222 MHz programming
0%
Description
The latest version of Chirp gives "out of range" notifications when 222 MHz frequencies are entered.
The X3 version adds 222 MHz capability to the previous 2-meter and 70 cm coverage.

Hi Glen,
I would suspect that you are not choosing the correct Vendor/Model. As you found out, using Vendor: Baofeng and Model: UV-5R will work to clone the radio but will only support the VHF/UHF bands.
Use the "Supported Radio Models":https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Supported_Radios list on the CHIRP "home/wiki":https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home page as your guide. Choosing Vendor: Radioddity and Model: UV-5RX3 will get you support for the VHF/220/UHF bands.
Radioddity <-- Choose this for the Vendor
- DB25 (Variant of QYT KT8900D)
- GA-2S
- GA-5S
- R2
- UV-5R EX
- UV-5RX3 <-- Choose this for the Model

The latest download list shows that the UV-5RX3 is compatible but will not allow 222 MHz to be programmed.
Is there some special version that can be downloaded? The only version that I can find is the latest daily download and that version produces the error.
