Description

I'm using a distribution (Clear Linux) that only packages some needed modules (e.g. pyserial) for Python 3 and therefor I am unable to use CHIRP anymore since switching. Are there any plans to refacture CHIRP for Python 3 ever or should I give up and just go back to Fedora (Which I would prefer not to)?

Why are requests for Python3 being rejected as duplicates from 2013 when Python has announced it is End Of Life in 2020?

More and more distributions are not even making Python2 available it is so old.

Since you are using PyGTK that appears to have died sometime around 2013, maybe you should consider another framework?

Maybe something more recent like: https://pygobject.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

Fedora is now actively moving away from Python 2 to Python 3. This has to be addressed at some point in the near future.
