CHIRP

I am seeing the same thing with the 20170329 daily build (the most recent one that doesn't throw a different error). So I found a copy of Chirp from last year on my Mac at work and did some experimentation with it and with the version at home (running on Linŭx Mint 18) and it seems that the problem can reliably be reproduced by modifying a file that uploads properly, either by pasting into it or apparently by changing one of the fields in the table.

As an example I am attaching two almost identical .img files. The one marked KNOWN_GOOD uploads properly to the radio and was generated with the older version of Chirp (from 20160629 I think). The one marked BAD should be identical with one minor difference: O changed the Name field in row 101 from "JOTA L" to "WA7HJR L". Hopefully a side-by-side comparison of these two files can give some clue as to why the second one fails.
