Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response. Have you tried the latest daily version (development build)? These are linked from the bottom of the download page. Please try that and report back.

Thanks!

Have tried the recent builds but when I try to download from the radio it doesn't give me any choices of Comm Ports, or radio manufacturer or radio model in the pull down menu's. What am I doing wrong???

Hmm, that's a new one. Can you grab your debug.log file and attach it here?

Hope this helps it's the only debug file I could find. FYI I just downloaded the 121511 daily build.

Hmm, the debug log doesn't show any errors. I just downloaded the 12152011 build from the website, installed it, and don't see the problem.

The debug log does indicate that some radio image was opened. Just so we're clear, you open CHIRP, go to Radio->Download and see no vendors or models in the drop-down boxes, is that right?

If so, all I can suggest is:

  1. Try re-downloading and re-installing the build
  2. Checking that some anti-virus type software isn't restricting CHIRP for some reason
  3. Going back to the original build you reported, just to verify that it's related to the new build and not something else.

Thanks!

Yes that's correct. Funny thing CHIRP doesn't even show up in the Add/Remove list of programs installed. It's late here now so I will try your suggestions tomorrow.

Thanks for your responses.

Reinstalled the build I originally reported and I get the selection of Com Ports, and radio manufacturers and models back again. So it seems that it's only effecting the newer daily builds.

Hi David,

Can you check the latest build to see if you're still experiencing the reported issue?

Thanks!
