Description
Baofeng UV 5R firmware BFB297 - Could not receive after chirp programming.
I found,
1.it receive just after hitting MON button frequently only, during repeater use.
2.It works nicely in simplex mode,both receiving and transmitting.
3.Erratic repeater reception.

Unless your radio is over 2 year old it does not have BFB297 firmware. All UV-5R radios and variants starting with BFB299 firmware all report as BFB297 in the 3 key plus power on message so this message is no longer useful for determining the radio's firmware version.
Which version of CHIRP did you use? You must not use the over 3 year old v0.4.x version of CHIRP with a Baofeng UV-5R variant if you plan to upload an image from another radio. There is not protection for incompatible images. You must not upload an image from an older radio with BFB type firmware into a newer radio with N5R type firmware (unfortunately this is what it sounds like you did).
