Bug #3287
closedData import error with TYT TH-9800
0%
Description
I am attempting to program a TYT TH-9800 4 band radio (10,6,2 and 70cm). I have created a cvs file with all of the repeaters in Oklahoma. I then followed the instructions for importing a cvs file into the radio. As I start the import action I receive an error message " '88.3' is not in valid list". This error occurs with Chirp daily builds of 20151221 and 20160201. I also attempted to import a dat file created with the EOM software and got the same error message. I have checked the cvs file for any entry in the tone columns would cause the error and '88.3' never shows up.
I am attaching the cvs file in question. The data was downloaded from RepeaterBook and modified for my use.

I might have solved my problem.
Without connecting the TH-9800 to the computer using the OEM USB cable, I loaded a previously saved .dat file created with the OEM software into CHIRP. I then was able to then import the .cvs file in question with out any issues. I then saved the "new" information in a .dat file usable by the OEM software. That file was successfully load into the radio.
The only real difference to my original problem was no connection to the radio prior to the import function. At least this is a workaround for me.

- Status changed from New to Closed
- Chirp Version changed from 0.4.0 to daily
- Model affected changed from (All models) to TYT TH-9800
Yes, that's the way Chirp works. You must either freshly download from the radio or use a saved image, which you can alter by importing data, before you can upload it back to the radio.
