CHIRP

I have the Wouxun KG-UV8D and have been trying to make programming changes via the settings area. I am on a MAC running V10.11.2. I was able to download from the repeater book just fine. However when I try to change any of the settings other than memory they are not saved or uploaded to the radio. Specifically I have tried to change the Upper and Lower Frequency Limits for VHF & UHF. Other changes also. Since there is no programming software for MACs to do this I was hoping because I had success with Chirp and my Baofeng the KG-UV8D would have been settled by this time. Any word on whether there will be any changes made to this? Thanks.
