BF-F8HP "Radio Did Not Respond" error message

Model affected:
Baofeng BF-F8HP
I read the instructions above:
Description
I purchased a BF-F8HP and downloaded the latest daily build (20140921). I open CHIRP on my Mac osx 10.7.5, Click Radio on the top menu bar, click Download from radio, click BF-F8HP from the drop down and I get the error message: An error has occurred, Radio did not respond. I'm using a Baofeng USB cable which is attached securely. I can't seem to get the radio to connect to the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My UV-5R+ works just fine on the latest daily build and connects to CHIRP perfectly.

Matt,
CHIRP is not getting any data back from the BF-F8HP. Since this setup works with your UV-5R, the most likely problem is the connection between the 2-pin plug and the socket in the radio. If you don't attach the plug to the radio at all, you will see the same error.
Sometimes the location of the sockets inside the radio don't quite line up with the holes in the case. This can interferes with the pins reaching the correct location in the sockets. In some cases, it is not unusual to require pressing on the plug while the download/upload process is occurring.

Thank you, Jim. I thought that might be the case.. I was up all night squeezing the USB connector to the radio and still getting the error message. I woke up this morning and "miraculously" the F8HP worked perfectly without having to squeeze the connection. Maybe I just needed to turn the computer off and back on.
I appreciate the quick reply. Thanks again.
