Description

We have a couple of repeaters here which use non-standard CTCSS tones. 110.5Hz is a favorite here in Hawaii.

That tone is unavailable, as are others, in the programming. Any chance of getting this tone added?

Hi James,
each radio driver is setup to support the list of tones that the radio supports. Many have a fixed list, and do not allow setting specific non-standard tones.

Do you have an example of a radio that chirp supports, which accepts a non-standard tone (set from the radio), but does not have that option available in the tone list on chirp?

Jens,
The UV-5R and its many variants is one such radio. By using the arrow keys you can select from the something like 50 standard CTCSS tones. These are the tones that CHIRP supports. But by keying in the frequency directly, you can enter just about any tone to .1 Hz resolution. If a non-standard tone like this is programmed into the radio via the keypad and downloaded to CHIRP, the memory with non-standard CTCSS tone will be shown in the spreadsheet editor with an error.
