Description
The use of the Icom IC-910H is fairly common in the ARISS community (school kids talking to the ISS). Ideally the ISS uplink and downlink frequencies need to be loaded into memory. Without computer assistance this is very difficult as the Doppler corrections do not represent a fixed offset. All Doppler correction must be done at the level of the ground station as the ISS can do no Doppler correction. Supposedly the IC-910H looks very much like the Icom IC-746 which is supported by Chirp. Adding the IC-910H to Chirp functionality would be of great assistance to the ARISS program. This is a very visible and exciting use of amateur radio in support of the schools and well demonstrates the public service commitment of the amateur radio community.
