Bug #11998
closedUbuntu 24.04LTS Chrip issue when loading Tidradio TD-H3 Settings

Description
Hi Dev Team! I'm having an issue with Chirp on 24.04lts when loading the settings tab for my Tidradio H3. The issues I get are as follows:
-When I load the radios settings they do not match what I get from the Windows version of Chirp. All the Columns do not match up.
-When I load the settings I get an error and can not read the radios config and just errors out.
I am using the .deb package of Chirp along with the kenwood programing cable, not usb-c interface. I am aware of the Snap version however it does not work on 24.04lts or does it see the serial interface. Only the .deb package does. I have other radios like BTECH FRS A1 and Retevis RT22 and they load and work correctly with Chirp on linux.
I attached a screenshot and log file for review.

The version you're running (20240224) is ancient, especially with respect to that driver so I'm sure that's the difference you're seeing.
We don't maintain or support anything other than what you find on the Download page, so there's nothing we can do for you here. Either deploy the latest version according to ChirpOnLinux or ask whatever packager you're getting your version from to update.

Thanks for the info. I followed you instructions and that work. I removed all versions of Chrip off my machine. Followed the instructions and installed Chirp from source on Ubuntu 24.04lts. Works as it should now. I will report this to the package maintainers to updated it. Thanks again!
