Description

Seems to be an issue with more than 19 entries. I can add up to 200 but only the first 19 show up. When I connect with CHIRP and download the Radio all memory entries are there.
Also white block characters added to end of text string for memory location.
I've tried resetting to factory and updating firmware with official software but get the same result.
Additionally when I go to paste in Airband it says AM not available but if I input it manually it defaults to AM.
How should I proceed?
I appreciate your efforts, Cheers.

Hi Ryan,

If I understand correctly, you are describing three separate issues.

1) "Seems to be an issue with more than 19 entries. I can add up to 200 but only the first 19 show up. When I connect with CHIRP and download the Radio all memory entries are there."

2) "Also white block characters added to end of text string for memory location."

3) "Additionally when I go to paste in Airband it says AM not available but if I input it manually it defaults to AM."

Could you please provide clarification regarding 1)? Are you saying that if you program more than 19 entries using CHIRP, they don't show up on the radio itself, but they always appear correctly in CHIRP?

If so, could you provide an .img file of the radio with more than 19 frequencies programmed with CHIRP, when the radio is exhibiting the problematic situation you are describing? (That means the .img file that you generate by downloading from your radio and then doing File -> Save As)

Thanks

I agree. Please attach you .img file to be used as an example for testing.

Thanks Jim, I think you got it with the 1,2,3 diver. All issues I described in this bug report are resolved to the best of my testing.
Cheers, I owe you a beer.

Thanks for calling these bugs to my attention. The first was an error that I made, the other 2 were existing in the driver that I used to add the RT-730 support to. Just keep using this test driver for the time being. If I don't get this submitted by the end this coming weekend, remind me here. I've been busy lately.

I installed the latest firmware but it did not make a difference. I reset the radio a couple times (holding PTT1 & 7 while powering on) but it appears the reset does not clear everything out. Seems to be a radio firmware issue.

My solution to get all Channels to show in the radio:
1: Reset the radio
2: Use the Radtel 730 CPS
3: Manually type in 108.000 in all channels 1-199, write to radio
4: Connect radio to Chirp
5: Copy channel list in Chirp and write to radio

This was the only way I could get all programmed channels to show up in the radio by using Chirp. It’s almost like the channels needed to be “unlocked” in order for them to show the correct channel information and to be able to use Chirp.

Were you running the test driver module provided above that addresses the channels not showing up?

That's a real vague report. If it doesn't download at all, then you would need open another ticket (if one isn't already open). This ticket is only for the 3 issues mentioned in the original ticket description. And provide the debug.log file.
