It's not on the supported list, so unless it's a clone of something else, it's not expected to work.

The UV-XR to be a re-badged UV-9R. It will likely work by using the UV-9R model selection. Most likely your issue is that you don't have a working connection between the computer and radio. This would usually be indicated in the debug.log with some sort of error message that mentions that there is no communications happening.

One of the most common issue with these so-called 'waterproof' models is due to its use of an 'm' style speaker/mic connector. It is common for this connector to have issues with the pins of the 'plug' not properly lining up with the pads of the 'socket'. I have had some some of this style programming cable that require me to use a file to make changes to the plug shell in order to get the pins to line up correctly with the socket. The ones that I needed to alter have always had a lip that sticks out to line the plug up with the boss on the side of the radio. Unfortunately socket is not always properly centered in this this boss causing the pins of the plug to not line up with the pads of the socket. The programming cables that to not have this lip have (preferred) always worked without modification (see attached photo).

Another common problem is when the USB-to-Serial chip in the programming cable is of the Prolific type and Windows is the operating system. The driver that is auto installed by Windows is incompatible. The workaround is to download, install and manually select the older Prolific v3.2.0.0 driver. A link to the older driver and instructions for hot to select it are available here.

Sure. I don't understand why this ticket system sometimes doesn't show the files that I attach. Trying again.
