Description

Hello.
After uploading an image to my uv-5r 8w, now it has lost some of the parameters, specially the power modes.

On VHF, 147-174 now high power has become low power, offering between 1-3w, while medium and low power are now high power, but it doesnt reach (as before) >6w, now it has around 4w.

On UHF, 440-520, same issue, with high power offering around 4,4w, and medium and low offering around 6w.

I have tried uploading lot of different images, and reseting it to factory in menu, but without results.

I have tried also by taking an image from a second uv-5r 8w which is working as expected, but same result.

Is there a way to fix it, and put it back to its original condition?

Thanks.

Hello again.

For those who has similar issues, i think i have found the solution in a post from "Jim Unroe", about a different issue with same firmware (BFB298).

The solution was this: (Just copy paste from JimĀ“s message):

Start CHIRP
Load your previously saved "backup"/"good" image file into CHIRP
Click Settings -> Advanced Settings
Click in the field for the bottom Range Override Parameter setting
Type CTRL + A to highlight the whole field
Type the Delete key to empty the field
Manually type in UseAtOwnRisk (do not copy-and-paste from your browser)
Upload to your radio

After following these steps, my UV-5R 8w is back on its original setting, and now it is full power again.

Thanks Jim Unroe!!
