Description
As a Windows 7 user any chance of the legacy file and newer files being compatible with each other ?
if i had my way i'd still be an XP user.
just bought a pair of Quansheng radios and wish to be able to wide TX for Ham bands, 10m, 6m, 4m as well as 23cms, for experimental use..
is any of this possible for the win7 user ??
bear in mind these radios are now sub $20 to buy so if hackable more popular than the Baofeng..

- Status changed from New to Not a bug
Development of legacy CHIRP has ended. The last build was 17 December 2022.
About CHIRP-next: ChirpNextBuild
System requirements for CHIRP-next:
- Windows 10 and later (64-bit)
- macOS Big Sur and later (universal binary with Intel and Apple Silicon support)
- Linux
I used Rufus to put Linux Mint 21.2 along with a 4GB persistence partition on an 8GB USB Flash drive. Then I installed the latest CHIRP-next. Now I can plug this thumb drive into nearly any PC that can boot from USB and run CHIRP without affecting the PC's installed operating system.
