Description

Hi,

I downloaded and installed CHIRP Next on Fedora 38 and was pleased to see support for my Radioddity GS-5B HT without any extra steps as the legacy version of CHIRP did not support this radio directly.

I was able to connect my radio and download all current memory locations and after making a few changes upload the data back to the radio. No errors were reported, and everything seems to be working as expected on the radio.

I did notice that the name field was truncated to 10 characters for each of the memory locations. When adding memory locations through the radio's keypad I can enter and store 16 characters for each name. I'm not sure if this is a bug or feature request so I'm adding it as a model report. The driver is working, just would be good if it supported all 16 characters of the names.

Thanks Bruce. This one is already known-working on chirp-next, but it's always good to get another confirmation.

Yeah, if you can open a bug report for the name thing that would be great. I don't have one of these radios to do it myself, but perhaps someone else will pick it up.
