Description

It'd be great to be able to utilize Chirp to program the AR-152

Looks like the FCC ID is 2AJGM-AR152 for Po Fung/BaoFeng, and there are two models that are covered by this ID:AR-152 and AR-152Pro

Hi. It seems like it has been already updated.
I managed to Download from radio, program new channels and upload it using the model name "BF-F8HP". Try it, hopefully it will work for you as well

I use the UV-5X setting to program mine.

While you can tell Chirp that you have some other radio and it will allow you to program things, who knows if it’s actually fully functional or not.

Plus, it’d be nice if there was just an AR-152 option so people who don’t know that you can cheat by telling it you have a different radio could program it too…

The Baofeng UV-5X (or even the UV-5R which the "5X" is an alias of) is a better choice than the Baofeng BF-F8HP. The BF-F8HP selection supports 3 TX power levels, which the AR-152 radio does not.

I downloaded the User Manual and took a look at it. It would seem that the only setting missing from CHIRP would be menu 41 [R-TONE].
