I read the instructions above:

Description

If I enter a new frequency with all repeater settings using the radio including the offset set to .60 MHZ and download to CHIRP and then upload back to the radio, the offset shows correctly when you bring up that menu again in the radio. Shows as .6MHZ

If I enter a new frequency with all repeater settings within the CHIRP interface (on the computer) including the offset again set to .6 MHZ then upload to the radio, the shift shows incorrectly when you bring up that menu in the radio. Instead of being .60 it displays as 7.60

Furthermore, once you bring up the menu in the radio and it displays as 7.60 it will never contact the repeater again, as it's transmitting on an incorrect frequency, unless you repower the radio and don't go into that setting. Once you look at the setting and see the 7.6 offset, none of the repeater memories will work correctly until the radio is repowered.

In the attached CHIRP file, memory 31 was entered using the radio and memory 32 was entered using CHIRP. They look identical, yet they don't act identically when uploaded back to the radio. 31 displays correctly and 32 displays the offset as 7.60MHZ

I've seen a similar problem with my radio, a TYT-9800 (plus) purchased last week from a reputable vendor. When programmed for a local repeater, the repeater could not be hit in memory mode. I specifically avoided looking at the settings due to this bug before trying to transmit.

When put in VFO mode & manually 'programmed' with the repeater settings as shown in CHIRP, there are no problems connecting to the repeater. I did notice while 'programming' the radio in VFO mode that the offset was 7.60MHz on 2 meters! I put quotes around programming as I dialed up the appropriate settings on the radio but did not save them to a memory channel.

Hope my experience over Museum Ships weekend helps shed some light on this problem.
