Description

I am programming the BTech UV-2501 mobile, UV-5R, UV-5RV2+ and UV-82C radios with no problems and all is working fine. Except once I program these radios with CHIRP, I have to use CHIRP to make any changes to the program.

ie, I programmed the wrong CTCSS tone on a local repeater so while in the field, I tried to change the tone and while it shows changed, it won't hit the repeater. I go back into the menu and see that the tone reverted back to the tone from CHIRP.

Also, if I program a frequency while in VFO mode with duplex offset and save it to an open channel, all goes fine except I loose the duplex offset. Nor can I correct that problem from the menu keyboard.

This causes problem making any changes to the radio from the keypad.

My version is 20170222 and have updated several times prior to this with the same results.

Thanks from Mississippi

Oddly, this is how the radios are supposed to work, and isn't related to Chirp; you cannot change a programmed channel from channel mode. Instead, you have to switch to VFO mode, set up the station the way you like from scratch, and use the save menu to overwrite one of the programmed channels.

Just noticed that you said

This is still a radio issue, not a Chirp issue; you might try the Baofeng user group on Yahoo Groups for help.
