This radio looks like a variant of the QYT KT-8900 and many other similar radios. So technically this is a dupe of and existing issue (#2673).

Update on this model:

1) Added a new class to the existing btech model and added the magic strings and file id.
2) Successfully downloaded an image file from the radio (attached here).
3) channel settings appeared to be correct

So it looks like Jim's observation around this being a 8900 variant is correct.
I'll continue to do some more testing before I check this in.

Update:

Summary:

Continued testing with the radio, based on the updated btech.py model, with various patches from the btech team and jim. See the attached log (abbreviated) with the list of patches applied (most are from patches over the past week from Pavel, Jim and Dan.

Given the number of changes for this driver, I'll be waiting until things stabilize before submitting the patch to add the JT2705M.

Testing Results:

1) run_all_tests.sh (with JT2705M added)
$ ./run_tests -d Jetstream_JT2705M
Jetstream JT2705M Detect FAILED: detected as
Jetstream JT2705M Settings SKIPPED: Settings not supported
Jetstream JT2705M Clone PASSED: All tests
Jetstream JT2705M Edges PASSED: All tests
Jetstream JT2705M BruteForce PASSED: All tests
Jetstream JT2705M CopyAll PASSED: All tests

Jetstream JT2705M Banks SKIPPED: Banks not supported

Results:
TOTAL : 7
FAILED : 1
SKIPPED: 2
PASSED : 4
CRASHED: 0

2) adding channels
I added several channels, and uploaded them to the radio
There was an issue with split mode - the split mode flag was incorrectly set (it was set to "+" after uploading/downloading from the radio. Also, the frequency was displayed in correctly.

David, I'm pretty sure this issue is solved with the recent Chirp version.

Can you confirm this for us to close this thread?
