Bug #3375
closedcannot upload to Yaesu FT60 "Failed to communicate with radio: Radio did not respond"
0%
Description
Successfully downloaded freqs from FT60. After some editing, adding new freqs, trying to upload to same radio.
"Failed to communicate with radio: Radio did not respond" Radio remains "--RX--"
Using Win7 64-bit. Cable is from an Amazon seller'Bigstone', a commenter said of this cable, "Uses 067b:2303 Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2303 Serial Port chip set."
That user reported no problems with this cable using CHIRP on Linux.
I note this issue has been reported before, download succeeds but upload fails, using a cable with Prolific chipset. Issue was closed.
If downloading diff driver software will fix this, will it hose any other apps using USB-to-serial converters (FTDI)?

Succeeded in using Valley Ent cable to download and upload for an FT817. Slicker than hell. I have an 857 and an 897 that I'd like to program alike for VHF/UHF.
So if the best long-term fix is to send the Prolific-chipped cable back to Amazon and get the Valley Enterprises cable for my FT-60, let me know.
