Bug #3087
closedUV-82 on Mac, will upload to chirp once, then will not download to radio
0%
Description
I have a UV-82 and recently got a new mac. With the software and drivers installed, when I restart my computer and open chirp, I AM able to download from the radio into chirp once. When I try to download from chirp to the radio however, it says radio failed to respond, and also after the first download to chirp, I get the same error message when trying to download from the radio to chirp again, until I restart the computer and the program.

Cody,
This is most likely a driver issue. Which chip is in your programming cable? If it is a Prolific type chip, you may have to install one of the generic drivers.

I had the generic one installed at first and it would not even show as an optional port to download from. The current prolific driver installed is the first of 3 installed drivers to show up under the dropdown in CHIRP as an option (aside from the standard Mac bluetooth port)

If it makes a difference, I have Mac OS X - El Capitan
