Description

I have a UV-B6. The channel step for the special VFO channels as well as the memory channels is not editable in Chirp, but it is stored in the image.

I have attached two files for comparison.

5khz_step.img and 25khz_step.img

In each, only the frequency step for special channel VFO2 has been changed.

The UV-B6 appears to support 5, 6.25, 10, 12.5, 20, 25khz steps.

Mike,

The step setting for the VFOs is only needed when programming using the keypad or scanning the VFOs. You should use the radio's menu settings to set them to the desired value. Like you mentioned, you can set the values and download the radio and then they will be stored in the .img file. That way they will be restored to the radio whenever you upload your channels and settings.

The step setting for Channel Mode does nothing. The step setting is not stored in the memory channels and it is not required when programming UV-B5/B6 memories with CHIRP.
