Description

Dear Developers!

The FT-90 has a setting where you can choose the FM bandwidth the transceiver uses (This is menu setting 36 "TxNar" in the transceiver's menu). This can be set in the settings, but not channelwise in the memory editor - although the FT-90 allows to store the FM bandwith separately for each memory channel.

Could you please add this feature?

Background: Here in Germany we have a very high repeater densitity, and hence the band plan for both 2m and 70cm requires the use of 12,5kHz channel spacing, so NFM is the default setting in both bands. Unfortunately, there are quite a lot of old repeaters that do not (yet?) recognise the 1750Hz tone burst which is used to open the repeaters if you transmit this tone burst in NFM - so being able to set the FM/NFM separately for each memory channel would be very nice.

Many thanks & Best Regards,

Willi

Hi Willi,
Unfortunately from what I can tell from decoding the memory map, TxNar (i.e., tx half-deviation) is a "global" setting, and is not set at the channel level.

I verified this on the radio by:

  1. pick a channel, e.g. 1.
  2. Verify that TxNarrow is off
  3. change to different channel, e.g. 2
  4. in menu, change TxNar to on.
  5. change back to channel 1. Note that TxNar is still on (i.e., global option)
  6. while still on ch 1, turn off TxNar
  7. change channel back to 2, and note that TxNar remains off.
