I have managed to get the Intek HR-2040 working by modifying the AnyTone code.
The only difference seems to be the model strings.

If all you had to change was the Anytone model string, then what is intek.py? That's a lot of code!
Chirp accepts new code as hg patches sent to the mailing list. We want just the new code (like the change to the model string), not the whole file. More info on submitting a patch can be found here: DevelopersProcess

I'm in the same situation with a radio from the brand: VOYAGER and model: VR-D588 which is identical to the AnyTone 5888UV but CHIRP doesn't recognize it because of the model.
Can anybody help me?
Please add this model or guide me on how to do it.
