Except for band limits, your radio has a blank Aux memory area. Did you make and keep an unedited backup of your radio when you got it? If you did, attache it to this issue.

No backup

Restore your radio by using the following method.

  1. Save the attached 'factory' image to a convenient location
  2. Start CHIRP
  3. Load the image that was saved in step 1
  4. Click Settings -> Advanced Settings
  5. Click in the field for the bottom Range Override Parameter setting
  6. Type CTRL + A to highlight the whole field
  7. Type the Delete key to empty the field
  8. Manually type in UseAtOwnRisk (do not copy-and-paste from your browser)
  9. Upload to your radio

Success will be indicated by an error message that tells you to restart CHIRP. After restarting CHIRP, download from your radio and verify that the settings tabs are displayed. If they are, immediately save this tab, unedited, to be kept as your backup.

Now load your 'bad' image into CHIRP so that you can copy-and-paste your channels from the 'bad' tab to the 'good' tab. Make any changes to the global settings that you want and then upload to your radio. Don't forget to save your changes to a file using a different filename (you don't want to accidentally overwrite your backup file).

Never attempt to directly upload your 'bad' image back into your radio.
