Description

Can you please tell me if the Quansheng UV-5R PLUS radio can be connected to CHIRP via an USB Prolific Cable?
I have tried many times but I get the following message: "Error communicating with radio: Memory Downloaded incompleted" or "Error communicating with radio: Header Short Read". My WIndows 10 and Mac OS Big-Sure drivers are updated.

Sometimes it also appears on the radio screen the word "DISABLED".

Can you please help me? Any idea?

No matter which radio you are trying to program...

For Windows 10 you must download, install and manually select the older Prolific v3.2.0.0 device driver. For a link to the driver and instructions for how to manually select it visit: https://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_Drivers.php

My testing for macOS has found that only the PL2303TA chip is supported. The older PL2303HA/PL2030HXA and PL2303GA were not supported.

There were no issues with programming cables manufactured with the FTDI FT232r, Silicon Labs CP2102 or WCH CH340/CH341 chips for either operating system.
