the new addition of CHIRP for the KG-935G is fantastic, however, it appears that you can only receive off GMRS channel frequencies, but only transmit on GMRS channels, or am I missing something? any workarounds?

While the driver provides the interfaces for changing both the transmit and receive ranges....ONLY the receive range parameters change the radio operation. It appears the Tx range is HW/firmware locked. The Tx range interfaces are however used by the Wouxun CPS for error checking so I included them in the driver to maintain compatibility with the CPS in certain channel programming scenarios.

I do not know any work around for extending the transmit range.

No known way, as of yet, to make the KG-935G Tx outside the GMRS frequencies.
